On the afternoon of September 15, upon the invitation of the Beijing Global Talents Exchange Association, a five‑member Russian delegation headed by Ivanov Dapilin, Vice‑Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Transport of Don State Technical University (DSTU), and Professor Grigoryeva Iya Yuryevna from the Department of Engineering and Environmental Geology of Lomonosov Moscow State University, visited Beijing University of Technology (BJUT) for the Sino‑Russian Frontier Exchange Seminar on Transport Infrastructure. Song Xufeng and Zheng Liwei, Deputy Secretary‑Generals of Beijing Global Talents Exchange Association, as well as Professor Chen Yanyan, Doctor of Engineering, Deputy Director of the Faculty of Architecture, Civil and Transportation Engineering and Dean of the College of Urban Transport at BJUT, attended the meeting. Professor Weng Jiancheng, Doctor of Engineering from the Institute of Transport Information and Control under the same faculty, presided over the seminar。

Professor Chen Yanyan opened the session with an overview of the Transport Engineering discipline at Beijing University of Technology. This was followed by academic exchanges between Chinese and Russian experts. Five professors including Ivanov Dapilin and Tilaturyan Artom delivered impressive academic presentations covering the latest development trends in Russia’s transport sector, improving the service durability of road infrastructure, assessment and control of air pollution during highway operation and maintenance, and mechanical behaviour of soil under dynamic loads.

Professors Han Yan, Zhang Zhiqing and other scholars from the Faculty of Architecture, Civil and Transportation Engineering shared China’s latest research advances in fields such as urban transport planning and intelligent management, key technologies for pavement design and construction developed for the “Hi‑Tech Winter Olympics”, application of vehicle‑road cooperative early‑warning systems, and pollutant emissions from road construction. Both sides reached research consensus and expressed intent for future cooperation focusing on cutting‑edge areas including optimisation of green and smart transport systems, and technologies for the construction and maintenance of transport infrastructure.

At the end of the seminar, participants visited the Beijing Key Laboratory of Transport Engineering (Provincial‑Ministerial Co‑sponsored National Key Laboratory Cultivation Base), Beijing Engineering Research Center for Urban Transport Operation Guarantee, and the Key Transport Industry Laboratory for Intelligent Urban Public Transport.
