On May 29, the inaugural programme of the “Global Chief Sustainability Officer Leadership Building Initiative” was officially launched in Beijing. Jointly initiated by the School of Journalism and Communication, Tsinghua University and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), the project receives supporting partnership from the Beijing Global Talents Exchange Association.

The initiative aims to cultivate sustainability leadership talents equipped with global‑governance vision, strategic implementation capabilities and cross‑cultural communication literacy, empowering enterprises to seize opportunities and tackle challenges brought by the global sustainable‑development agenda.

Centring on key themes including global risks and sustainable‑development strategies, ESG governance, green transition, AI‑driven empowerment, as well as strategic communication and global influence, the project combines academic research, international resources and practical experience. It delivers talent support and innovative ideas to advance sustainable‑development transition.

The launch marks a key outcome of deepened cooperation between UNITAR and the School of Journalism and Communication, Tsinghua University. It also embodies the commitment of all participating parties to jointly promote capacity‑building and advance sustainable development.
